Although grasses are many times thought of similarly in terms of growth habits, structure, and management, individual species of grasses each have their own unique structure and growth habits. Therefore, each species of grass also requires specific management considerations. Even though many generalities may be applied to grasses, a good manager always takes into consideration the exact species (and, in some cases, cultivar) being utilized to better determine what management practices and environmental conditions will be best suited to that particular species.
