GRNG Logo Grassland & Range National Goals

Grassland and range national goals have been developed to help focus cooperative research and education projects on issues of broad societal benefit. These national goals are the result of a national workshop entitled: "Innovative Systems for Utilization of Forage/Grassland/Rangeland Resources." This workshop brought together individuals from a wide variety of disciplines and agencies. Following this workshop, others joined the effort to identify national research and education goals for grassland and range resources. Together they developed a one-page, two sided full color brochure which describes grassland and range resources and describes goals and objectives in terms of societal benefits. Contact David B. Hannaway for copies of the brochure.

Proceedings from the 1993 Airlie, VA conference are available from Walt Wedin, University of Minnesota.

A one-page GRNGs Briefing Paper is being developed for informing the discussion of the Research and Education Title of the 1995 Farm Bill.

The scientists and educators who have prepared this brochure, proceedings, and briefing paper are seeking participation from all groups and individuals interested in wise management, use and protection of grassland and range resources.
